I’m a husband, a father, and have
nearly two decades of experience in the dental chair. Just like you, I became a dentist because I liked working with my hands and had a desire to help people.
However, coming out of dental school with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, I started to realize that being a dentist meant I didn’t have nearly as much time or money that I had originally anticipated. A nice salary and the prospect of having some free time were other big reasons that I went into the field of dentistry, but that’s not what I was experiencing at that time. It was not what I had envisioned for myself.
Even worse, I brought stresses from work home with me, my marriage felt strained, I didn’t see my kids as much as I would like to, and I was just grinding day after day, never coming up for air.
